As we grow older, it’s important to have a plan in place for long-term care. According to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, more than 70 percent of adults older than 65 will need some form of long-term care. While many retirees have traditionally relied on long-term care insurance policies to pay for these services, that’s no longer the only option.
Friendship at Home offers the peace of mind of a long-term care policy with additional services, benefits and flexibility. For example, long-term care insurance generally has a minimum condition requirement — meaning a need for pretty major support services — before the policyholder can receive coverage. Unlike long-term care policyholders, Friendship at Home members can utilize the program from the moment they experience a single issue that impacts the activities of daily living.
Not only does Friendship at Home provide immediate care once a member needs it, but the program also pays 100 percent of the maximum coverage costs. Depending on the policy, there may be a limit to the maximum lifetime coverage long-term care insurance will provide. Friendship at Home promises to cover 100 percent of member costs for the rest of their life.
Members also benefit from our care coordination services. Our care coordinators remove the headaches associated with scheduling care — allowing members and their families to focus on what really matters. Our care coordinators build a long-term relationship with each member so they understand their unique needs and can schedule care from our certified providers at a moments notice.
Care coordinators also provide initial and ongoing health assessments to ensure our members are getting the quality of care they deserve. They’re also familiar with a variety of service providers and can advise members about service options before scheduling services.
If a member ever needs assistance that cannot be provided in their home, Friendship at Home membership reserves your place in Friendship Village of Dublin’s assisted living and Health Center facilities.
